Medeja's Life

Hi there! 😊

I have been trying to eat healthy as much as I can lately. I have lost about 10kg ( 22lbs ) so far. But not everything is about food. You have to get some exercise as well if you want to lose some weight or just live a healthier lifestyle. I just so some light exercise at home on my own. A few sit-ups or just a walk do the trick. All you need is a good half an hour of exercise a day.

I am not trying to avoid sweets and unhealthy food, because I love it way too much, so there's no way I could actually give it up, but I am trying to avoid it as much as I can.

I have decided that I'm gonna show you what I eat in a day. I do take my time and cook all the meals or as much as I can, ao I avoid pre-prepared food like frozen meals and stuff like that.

I'm gonna show you what I made a few days ago and maybe give you some inspiration for your next meal.

For breakfast, I decided to make a fruit bowl since I there was a lot of fruit in the fridge that needed to get used before it goes bad. I chopped up one apple and mix it with some grapes and blueberries. With that, I got myself a cup of green tea with jasmine and instead of using sugar I sweetened it with stevia.

For lunch, I made rice with chicken and veggies. First I laid everything on in front of me so I can see what we have. I decided to go with some mushrooms, carrots, red and yellow bell peppers and of course rice and chicken breasts.

First I chopped up some red onions and just roasted them on olive oil just so they turned a light golden color and then I added chopped up chicken breasts. I added some salt, pepper, and paprika to taste, but you can season it however you prefer.

In the meantime, while that was cooking up, I chopped up all the veggies and boiled the carrots so they softened up a bit. I also started on the rice. I added a cup of rice into a cup and a half of water and added a bit of butter.

Once the chicken was done, I removed it from the pan and added in carrots that I previously drained, mushrooms, and bell peppers. I left them on the stove for about five minutes before adding the chicken and leave it cooking for a few more minutes.

In the end, I also added the rice to the pan and mixed everything together. And that's my lunch done.

All throughout the day, I always make sure that I dring enough water. I carry a water bottle with me all the time just so I do not forget to drink it. Mine is a 600ml one and I usually dring 3 or 4 bottles a day, which comes up to 1,8 - 2,4 liters of water.

You should consume around 3l of fluids every day. You do get some water with food but make sure you drink at least 2,5l of water a day, it helps you stay hydrated and also helps your skin get nice and smooth with less or none spots.

So for my dinner, I had a bowl of porridge, that I made with milk, some crushed mixed seeds, I topped it off with some raspberries and blueberries and for sweetness, I drizzled honey on top of it all. I made myself some tea again but this time a mint one, and I put it in a thermal mug because I took it to my room and drank it slowly before I went to sleep.

And that is my ''What I eat in a day''.
I don't really snack during the day, but If I do, I get myself some fruits or unsalted peanuts and that's pretty much it.

I hope you liked this post and maybe it'll give you some inspiration on eating healthy and getting some exercise.

Hi there! 😊

So currently I am an au pair just outside of Edinburgh, Scotland. I've only been here for a week, but yesterday was my first time ever in Edinburgh. So, of course, I had to take a look at their Primark store, to see if they had anything interesting. And obviously I have picked up a few things from there, but also a few from next door store which was Superdrug.

So the first two things that I have picked up from Primark are a cute black umbrella with white flowers all over it and a little bow because I left mine at home. Also, I picked up a travel coffee mug so I can take either tea coffee or even just water with me when I go into the city to explore or meet up with friends.

The next thing that I picked up is a small glitter nail polish and a nail polish remover pot. I didn't bring any nail polish with me but because my nails are in a really bad condition at the moment I felt like a nail polish could just keep them from breaking. I also picked up adorable Harry Potter pouch or a little makeup bag, whatever you want to call it, just 'cause I thought it was cute and I'm obsessed with HP.

Next up are just some socks, 'cause who doesn't need socks, also most of mine have holes in them already. So I picked up a pack of five pairs of black ones and a pair of white ones with rainbow stripes, mostly because of the pride which was last month I know but still I just think they're too cute.

I got a light blue raincoat or more like a parka, mostly because I did not bring anything like that with me, so just in case of rain I have it covered now, even though the weather is extremely good at the moment. Oh and a plus side to this one is.... it has a small pocket in which you can fold your coat so it doesn't take up much space in your bag, so you can always bring it with you no matter where you go.

I got a pair of pyjamas and of course, they are Harry Potter themed. I picked up a pair of Ravenclaw PJ's because I'm a proud Ravenclaw. You get stripy shorts with a tank top with words that represent the Ravenclaws the most.

I picked up two simple tanks tops. A black one with a slogan on it which totally fits my mood on the weekends and a stripy black and white one with red stars and hearts on it. These are so soft and I love getting basic tops from Primark they are my favourites. I also got a white t-shirt which says Edinburgh on it and I just think it's the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. And I got a black cut out top with strap details on the back and of the shoulder sleeves.

I do love myself a bit of a Love island, I got way too excited about finding this swimsuit in Primark. I just think is super summery and it obviously just screams Love island. The palm leaves with pink flamingos and a sign that says, islander was just too cute for me to not get it.

Last two things that I got from Primark are just some face clothes, 'cause what girl that loves makeup doesn't need them to wash it off, or just to have one for when you wash your face as a part of your daily skin routine. And I did get another bag tag since I have two suitcases with me but I only have a tag on one. Simple as that.

So from Superdrug, I picked up some of my favourite dry shampoo, the Batiste one and some face wipes for those lazy days that I want to get my makeup off, but can't be bothered to go to the bathroom and wash it off. I up picked a Collection lasting perfection concealer in the shade 1fair, since I have heard so many good things about it and wanted to try it out.

So this is my haul from Primark and Superdrug. It's not huge but I still got quite a few things so wanted to share them with you. I hope you liked it and I will see you soon in my next post.

Keep On Dreaming.

Hi there! 😊

I am back with another post, but this one is a little bit different than what I usually post. This is my first post where I have attempted to do decent makeup look, with one of my favorite palette, which is the Second nature palette from Morphe.

I got this one about two months ago, and I fell in love with it the second I opened my package.
The palette comes with 35 different eyeshadows. 10 of which are shimmers and the rest are mattes.

First, I'm going to show you all the shimmer shades. They are all extremely pigmented so you don't have to get a lot of it on your brush. Like every other shimmer eyeshadow, they show up better and stronger if you wet the shadow or your brush before applying it to your eyes. Also, they are so soft and buttery to apply you can actually see a dent in the pan if you press too much with your brush.

From top to bottom here are the shimmer shades in the palette:
- Pure ( Beautiful golden shade.)
- Zodiac ( It's a beautiful light brown shade.)
- Polished ( A mixture of rose gold and brown color.)
- Sizzle ( A gorgeous darker coppery shade.)
- Sauce ( Truly gorgeous bright orange shade.)
- Amber ( Mixture of Sauce and Sizzle.)
- Rustic ( A light copper shade.)
- Bronzie ( A beautiful bronze shade.)
- Ruby ( Bright red shade.)
- Zippy ( I would say it's a mix between Rustic and Bronzie, maybe a bit darker.)
- Halo ( It's a brown shade with a slight red tint to it and it's not as shimmery as the rest of them.)

Then we have all the matte shades. To be honest with you, I have never seen and used such pigmented matte eyeshadows in my life. They are so smooth and have that buttery feeling. I know it's really hard to make mattes but these are incredible. So easy to work with I fell in love straight away.

I'm not going to describe all the mattes, because some of them are really similar and I don't really see a point in describing them. Also, I'm not very good at it anyway. 😅

Here are the mattes from top to bottom in a morphe 3502 palette:
- Universal
- Orb
- Tan
- Flux
- Contour
- Heat
- Ablaze
- Fire
- Spice
- Terra cotta
- Brick
- Dust
- Risky
- Chestnut
- Rich
- Brave
- In the zone
- Fawn
- Stone
- So warm
- Toast
- Brunette
- Muddy
- Whiz

From the name (obviously) and the pictures, you can tell that all the colors are very warm perfect for autumn and winter time. There are lots of reds, oranges and brown shades that help you to create amazing looks.

(I know my swatches are not the best so bare it with me!)

I'll try and post some looks I'll do with this palette.
So stick around if you want to see them.

xoxo
