Medeja's Life

Hi there!

It's December and we all know what that means...
IT'S HOLIDAY SEASON!!🎄🎅🎇

It's the most wonderful time of the year when we should spend time with family and closest friends, but let's be honest most of us are stressing out with school, work and mostly what to buy everyone for Christmas.

I can't really help much with the first two, but I can help you with some gift ideas. I hope you'll get some inspiration from this post.

I'll categorize ideas like what to buy to your mum, dad, friends, grandparents, ...

I'll start with parents.

For your mum, I think you can't go wrong with perfume, any makeup products like mascara or eyeshadow, I know my mum is always happy with any of these. I also think some face or hand creams or body lotions/butter are really nice gifts, just make sure they like the scent or that they are not allergic to any ingredients. Another great gift would be a cute winter scarf and a matching hat or/and gloves. I know my mum likes to cook so getting her a cooking book would be great or any little gadgets and utensils she could use would be great as well.

Every year I get my dad a perfume or some sort of aftershave or shaving cream because I know he'll get a lot of use out of it. I think any kind of electronic gadget would be cool, like headphones or portable speaker, smartwatch or just a normal wristwatch would be amazing as well. Also if your dad is a handyman a toolbox or a toolset would be great as well. If your dad spends a lot of time cooking you could get them the same thing that I mentioned for mothers. Clothing wise maybe a hat or gloves even a scarf would be great.

For your friends, you could get a mug or even a travel mug and add some tea or coffee, depending on what they like you could add some hot chocolate bags and some marshmallows. I know I'm always excited if I get fuzzy socks so I think they would like them as well. Pretty much every year I buy them candles because I know they love them as much as I do, I also get them some nail polish and maybe some makeup bits for the ones that actually use makeup. Another really cool thing to give to a friend is any kind of book if they like to read and you know their favourite genre. Instead of buying chocolate you could bake some cookies yourself I'm sure they would love them (Psstt... I'm gonna post a delicious recipe a bit later in the month😉).

I only have one grandparent left and that is my grandmother.

I don't get her much. Usually, I get her some coffee and some chocolates. Honestly, we don't really do much for Christmas. We do get each other gifts but we don't spend a lot of money on it. I mean the most important thing is just the fact that we can actually have dinner and spend the evening together.

Illy: 13.50€

Some other things I think would make a really nice gift are non-material things. With that I mean experiences. For example, it would be nice if you can give someone a chance to go do something they always wanted to do, like skydiving, dinner at a fancy restaurant, a trip to a place they always wanted to visit, tickets to a concert of their favourite band or a show,...
I think gifts like that can be even more special than any of the expensive material things.

I hope this post helped you at list a little bit and it gave you some inspiration for this years Christmas gifts.

Thank you so much for reading!

I will see you soon with a new post!

Hi there! ☺

London is always a good idea! 😉

I have spent the last week of October in London. This was my fourth time visiting the city. I fell in love with it the first time I went there in 2012 and the last time I was there was in the summer of 2017.

This time around I have also visited Birmingham for a day and I tried to explore places in London I have not seen before. I've visited all the normal tourist spots like Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, London Eye, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, museums, ...
But this was the first time I actually went to Camden, Notting Hill, Carnaby and just random streets that I have found while roaming around London.

But just like every time, I have gone to some of my favourites shops and bought something for me, my parents and my cousin.

I did not buy too many things, because I brought a lot of things home last year from Scotland so I decided this time around I'm just gonna get a few bits.

For my dad, I bought some chillies because he likes everything spicy so I thought why not and for my mum, I went into lush and got her a shower oil. I went for more practical things or things I know they'll actually get some use out off. I also got them some ornaments for the Christmas tree. I just thought they were cute.

And I also got some of my favourite candy or mostly chocolates from the UK that we can not get here. I picked up som Terry's mini chocolate oranges, Yorkies, galaxy bars, aero bars, orange flavoured kit kats and wispas. I also got some M&M's from the official store but we can get the same ones here as well.

When I was in Birmingham, I had to go to their Primark. There were so many things that I wanted to buy and take home with me, but I only picked up a few things.

In the beauty department, I picked up some soothing eye patches with vitamin E and a duo of lip exfoliator stick and a plumping lip gloss. I also picked up one of their mini eyeshadow palettes. I went for a cool-toned one and it's called illusion. I swatched all the shades in the store and they were pretty good so I decided I'll give it a go.
I do have one other palette form them from a few years ago and I do really like it so I hope this one will be as good as that one. I just think it is very convenient for travelling since it's very light and small and very versatile, you can create a few pretty looks with it.

Clothing wise, I only got some underwear (sorry if that's TMI for you) and a black thick knit long-sleeved mini dress. I also bought a suitcase from Saffron Baker collection with Primark and a Harry Potter phone case.
Makeup wise I also went into Superdrug and picked up on of the Revolution mega bronzers in shade 01 cool, only because I ran out of mine.

Overall it was a really nice trip. I didn't have much luck with the weather since it was raining most days and the day I got there the temperatures dropped below 10 and I was so smart not to bring a coat only jean jacket, so I was freezing most of the time but I made a good time of what we had.

London I'll miss you! But hopefully,  I'll see you soon! 💕

Hi there! ☺

If you have read my last two posts or if you have been following any of my social media this summer, you probably noticed that I have spent my summer in Tenerife, Spain, where I was an intern in one of the hotels there.

I worked a lot, but when I got time off I sept some time on the beach but relaxing, but I had to go and buy a few things for myself.
So here's what I bought:

Most of the thing that I have bought are from H&M, Pull&Bear and Bershka.

In P&B I have bought the cropped Mickey Mouse hoodie that you can see on the right picture. I think it was about 5 or 6 euros and it is super comfortable perfect to pair it with high waisted jeans or leggings for fall.
On the left one, I have bought two tank tops, a white one that I am wearing in the picture and a black one ( 2.99 each) and black jean overalls that I got for 20 euros, all from H&M.

In H&M I also found this oversized white denim jacket for only 10 euros. I wasn't sure if I'll like it, but when I tried it one I loved it and I had to get it.

In Pull&Bear I found a white cropped t-shirt and an olive green cropped hoodie from Marc Marquez collaboration. I have a few pieces from past collections already in my wardrobe but I always love adding more to it, The t-shirt was 4 euros and the hoodie was 6 euros.

In Bershka I found this super cute pink and white tie-dye Led Zeppelin hoodie. I bought it mostly because I do not own any pink clothes and I thought it will brighten up my closet a bit. I paid around 8 euros for it.

I don't have any smart shirts in my closet, so I decided to get some and I found the white one with navy blue and yellow stripes and a navy blue one. I found both of these in Pull&Bear they were 3 euros each.

When I was walking through H&M I saw this red top and I tried it on as a joke. I didn't think it'll look good but I ended up loving it.

I don't own any short summer dresses, that's why I was on the lookout for a cute summer dress, that I could also wear in the fall with some tights and boots. I found a black one with small white flower print ( not really daisies but close enough ) in Pull&Bear and it was around 15 euros ( let's ignore my socks in the photo, it was really cold ).
In the same shop, I also found this black oversized Umbro hoodie with neon details ( Can you tell I pretty much live in hoodies? ) for 10 euros.

And last but certainly not the least, I found these two pieces on H&M. If you asked me a year ago or even just a few months ago to wear white jeans, I'd say your insane. I never thought I would find such a comfortable and flattering pair of white jeans. They were on sale for 10 euros and I just wanted to see how they'll look with the red cropped hoodie on the picture ( 5 euros ). I was sure I'm not gonna buy them, but they are so flattering and easy to wear it almost doesn't feel like you're wearing jeans and they are not see-through, unlike some other ones that I have tried on.

My favourite pieces I have bought in Spain, are definitely the two from the last outfit. I just think it's the most me and my style, but I also really like the overalls, I've been looking for ones that fit me that well for years and I finally found ones.

I will see you soon with a new post!

Hi there! ☺

Long-time no see!
I have been away for a while. Mostly because of my exams and because I am currently doing an internship in Tenerife, Spain.
I wrote this post at the start of the summer and even though summer is almost gone I still wanted to share it with you.
Hopefully, I'll have more time to write in the next few months before school starts again.
So without further ado, here is my summer makeup routine.

As the weather gets warmer when summer starts, we get rid of heavy and thick clothes and replace them with something lighter and breathable ones.

I do the same thing not just with clothes but also with my makeup.
I replace a heavy foundation and concealers with lighter, thinner formulas that let my skin breath, especially on the days that are extremely hot and I start to get a bit sweaty. I just want to allow my skin to breath and get some extra vitamin D.

So here is my summer makeup routine:

I start with cleaning and washing my face, moisturize with a thinner formula cream and I always put on sunscreen, just to make sure my face does not get burned.

In the summer I don't really use a primer unless I go for a night out.
So I start with concealer. Even in the winter, I don't like to use a thick one. I just find it creases on me so quickly. My favourite concealer is the Maybelline Fit me concealer. I use shade 12 all over my face, on blemishes and wherever I feel like I need it and for under my eyes I use shade 05 just to brighten the area a bit. Sometimes I first go in with shade 12 and then a bit of 05 under my eyes, only if I want a bit more of coverage, since it does have medium one, but it is buildable.

After that, I will use a setting powder, just so it helps to keep the concealer in place and stops me from looking like a greasy mess.
I use my all-time favourite Stay matte from Rimmel London in shade 001 Transparent.

Because I am one of the palest people I always use a bit of bronzer from Essence. I use the Sun club one, but for a lighter skin tone. I also go in with a very light hand, just so I add some tan to my face and don't look like a ghost.

For my highlighter, am currently using the Sleek Makeup Love shook Highlighting palette and I use the lightest shade.

When I'm done with bronzer and highlighter,  I usually set my base with a setting spray.

I don't really do much to my eyebrows. On a day to day base, I mostly use only a brow gel just to set them in place and make them more feathery. I use the Artdeco Clear brow and lash gel. I find it works the best in every weather and my brows stay put no matter what.

If I feel like doing a bit of an eyeshadow look, I use my bronzer as my crease shade and one of the darker shades from highlighting palette for all over my lid. On most days I don't really like wearing eyeshadow because the sun irritates my eyes and they start to leak and my eyeshadow gets everywhere.

as for my mascara, tend to always reach for the Maybelline falsies mascara. Even though it is pretty much dried out I still love it and I will use every last little bit.

On my lips, I just wear a lip balm, usually, The Body Shop Born Lippy in strawberry flavour or a clear Essence Cosmetics lip gloss.

I set all of it with a setting spray and that is it.

Thank you so much for reading!

I will see you soon with a new post!
